SDVoE Alliance Offers Full Day of Education and Training Opportunities at ISE 2019

Focus is on replacing old and proprietary matrix switches with scalable and interoperable Ethernet infrastructure

MONTREAL — Jan. 21, 2019 — At Integrated Systems Europe 2019 (Amsterdam, Feb. 5-8) the SDVoE™ Alliance presents a comprehensive, free program of in-depth education sessions for system integrators, designers, consultants, installers and manufacturers who want to take advantage of the only signal management platform that offers matrix switch performance, advanced AV processing and AV-over-IP capability, plus interoperability supported by over 40 companies.

“This year our education program at ISE is focusing on how SDVoE is transforming the matrix, how it is fundamentally changing the way we think about AV system design,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “Our goal is to allow participants to leave the sessions with a thorough understanding of the many advantages of the SDVoE platform to deliver the quality and performance benefits of traditional matrix switches while at the same time taking advantage of the flexibility, scalability, and simplified system architecture afforded by Ethernet-based designs.”

Attendees to the SDVoE Alliance training sessions will learn what they need to know to leverage the SDVoE standard for high performance AV network deployments in education, healthcare, enterprise, entertainment, hospitality, retail, houses of worship, government, military, industry and security.

Wednesday – Room G109

SDVoE Design Partner Certification

This live version of the popular online course is given by Matt Dodd, master trainer from Clavia Group. It is ideal for anyone with experience designing matrix-switch-based systems who wants to explore the new design considerations that exist in the SDVoE paradigm, and how this platform will benefit customers. It’s an opportunity to get questions answered and leave with SDVoE Design Partner certification. Two full sessions are offered – 10:00-11:30 or 14:00-15:30.

SDVoE Design Studies

Attendees hear directly from the designers of SDVoE installations about challenges they faced and solutions they devised in educational institutions, entertainment venues, mission-critical control rooms, and more.

  • SDVoE in schools and universities – ZeeVee, Atea Norway
  • SDVoE at the Zurich Opera House, – Nick Wheeler, Christie
  • SDVoE at a large middle eastern oil company – Frank Sheehan, HyperSphere

Two different sessions will be held – 11:30-12:30 and 16:00-17:00.

Quick Tech Talks

Industry experts present some of the most popular technical topics related to SDVoE, from 12:30-13:30.

  • New Architectures for Simplified Video System Design – Karl Johnson, Christie
  • Design a 144-port SDVoE System in 15 Minutes! – Laurent Masia, NETGEAR
  • How SDVoE Succeeds in Demanding Applications Where AV over IP Fails – Garth Leach, ZeeVee

Why Interoperability Matters in Pro AV

SDVoE is a complete ecosystem with more than 158 interoperable products from more than 40 member companies. Interoperability demonstrations are featured on both the LANG AG stand 1-H50 and the SDVoE Alliance stand 3-B150. In this session, from 13:30 to 14:00, Thomas Wendeler of LANG AG discusses how multiple vendors, working seamlessly together, benefits his business.

AVIXA FlashTrack Sessions

In addition, the SDVoE Alliance will present two AVIXA FlashTrack sessions on stand 13-N110 near the entrance of Hall C.

  • Understanding the Codec Triangle: Quality, Latency & Bandwidth with Justin Kennington of the SDVoE Alliance on Wednesday at 16:30.
  • Networking Fast Track: Why Do I Need to Know about Multicast? with Laurent Masia of NETGEAR on Friday at 12:30.

About the SDVoE Alliance

SDVoE is an initialism for “Software Defined Video over Ethernet”. The SDVoE Alliance is a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, and to create an ecosystem around SDVoE technology allowing software to define AV applications. The alliance participates in tradeshows and conferences, publishes white papers and case studies and promotes SDVoE technology, and solutions based on the technology, to system integrators, designers and consultants. Training and installer certification are also part of the mandate. The SDVoE Alliance founding members are Aquantia, Christie Digital, NETGEAR, Semtech, Sony and ZeeVee. All interested parties are invited to join the alliance and work toward its goals. For more information, visit sdvoe.org and follow us on Twitter @SDVoE.
