SDVoE Alliance Tops 40 Members and 100 Design Partners on the Road to InfoComm 2018

Momentum fueled by growing demand for no-compromise AV-over-IP solutions

MONTREAL — May 29, 2018 — The SDVoE™ Alliance today announced that there are now 40 member companies – with wide ranging expertise in chipsets, Ethernet switches, infrastructure, AV end points, software and systems integration – in the SDVoE ecosystem. In addition, more than 100 SDVoE Design Partners have been certified.

“The traditional matrix switch is dead, but the industry still needs the performance that the matrix delivered. SDVoE is the answer,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “Growing demand for this hot technology is driving membership and the need for qualified system designers. Training designers to apply a standard approach – like SDVoE – is so much more valuable that training on specific manufacturers’ products. These skills are transferable to products from the growing list of member companies. Even those folks not currently engaged in SDVoE designs can benefit from an in-depth look at high performance AV over IP and the design considerations that are new.”

The SDVoE Design Partner Program provides online training and publicly recognizes experts in the creation of SDVoE systems that take advantage of AV-over-IP scalability, yet offer matrix-switch-like performance. The goal of the program is to certify designers qualified to offer guidance to integrators, installers and end users in leveraging the SDVoE standard for high performance AV network deployments in education, healthcare, enterprise, entertainment, hospitality, retail, houses of worship, government, military, industry and security. As a service to the industry, the list of certified SDVoE designer partners is published on the SDVoE Alliance website. End users interested in leveraging SDVoE technology to meet their business needs can tap into the expertise of this specialist community.

Presentations introducing the SDVoE Design Partner Program, as well as other essential AV-over-IP topics, will be featured during the SDVoE 20/20 sessions in the SDVoE Alliance booth N720 at InfoComm 2018 (Las Vegas, June 6-8). All interested parties are invited to attend to learn how they can join the program and benefit from participation. More information about the program and the online training is available at https://sdvoe.org/alliance/design-partners/. Pre-registration for in-booth educations sessions and prize drawings is available at https://sdvoe.org/events/sdvoe-2020-in-booth-education-infocomm-2018.

All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency, uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches thus offering substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.

About the SDVoE Alliance

SDVoE is an initialism for “Software Defined Video over Ethernet”. The SDVoE Alliance is a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, and to create an ecosystem around SDVoE technology allowing software to define AV applications. The alliance participates in tradeshows and conferences, publishes white papers and case studies and promotes SDVoE technology, and solutions based on the technology, to system integrators, designers and consultants. Training and installer certification are also part of the mandate. The SDVoE Alliance founding members are Aquantia, Christie Digital, NETGEAR, Semtech, Sony and ZeeVee. All interested parties are invited to join the alliance and work toward its goals. For more information, visit sdvoe.org and follow us on Twitter @SDVoE.
