SDVoE Alliance to Present Four AV-over-IP Training Sessions at InfoComm MEA 2017

AVIXA Flashtrack and Seminar programs will familiarize system integrators, designers, consultants, installers and manufacturers with the new AV-over-IP paradigm — Software Defined Video Over Ethernet

MONTREAL — Nov. 20, 2017 — At InfoComm MEA 2017 in Dubai, Dec. 5-6, the SDVoE™ Alliance will present a series of AVIXA training sessions focusing on Ethernet as the transport for AV signals in professional AV environments and the ecosystem around the SDVoE platform which allows software to define AV applications.

The sessions will be presented by Frank Sheehan, CEO of HyperSphere Limited and lead consultant. As a technology visionary and systems architect, Sheehan is experienced in working internationally in many market verticals such as automotive, FMCG industries, security and research facilities. He has spent more than 10 years consulting on multiple projects in the oil & gas market for the likes of Saudi Aramco, Kuwait Oil and Qatar Petroleum ensuring best practice with AV-IT technology strategies.

“The SDVoE Alliance World Tour has delivered popular education and training sessions on SDVoE technology throughout Europe, the US, Australia and Latin America,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “We are excited to introduce this new AV-over-IP platform in the Middle East and to demonstrate how integrators and end users can take advantage of the flexibility and scalability of Ethernet to deliver 4K video without compromise – without latency and without image artifacts.”

All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency, uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches thus offering substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.

Attendees to the SDVoE Alliance training sessions will learn what they need to know to leverage the SDVoE standard for high performance AV network deployments in education, healthcare, enterprise, entertainment, hospitality, retail, houses of worship, government, military, industry and security.

About the SDVoE Alliance

SDVoE is an initialism for “Software Defined Video over Ethernet”. The SDVoE Alliance is a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, and to create an ecosystem around SDVoE technology allowing software to define AV applications. The alliance participates in tradeshows and conferences, publishes white papers and case studies and promotes SDVoE technology, and solutions based on the technology, to system integrators, designers and consultants. Training and installer certification are also part of the mandate. The SDVoE Alliance founding members are AptoVision, Aquantia, Christie Digital, NETGEAR, Sony and ZeeVee. All interested parties are invited to join the alliance and work toward its goals. For more information, visit sdvoe.org and follow us on Twitter @SDVoE.
