MediaComm Joins SDVoE Alliance
Introduces SDVoE-compliant AV-over-IP transmitters and receivers to the domestic Chinese market
MONTREAL — May 11, 2017 — The SDVoE Alliance today announced that Guangzhou MediaComm Technology Co. Ltd. has join the alliance as an adopting member and will work toward the organization’s goals of standardizing the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, and creating an ecosystem around SDVoE technology that allows software to define AV applications.
“MediaComm is designing AV-over-IP transmitters and receivers based on SDVoE technology to provide our customers with the pristine video experience and low latency required in command and control environments and other demanding AV applications,” said Alan Wang, general manager at MediaComm. “Our customers will also appreciate the interoperability with other pro AV products offered by adherence to the SDVoE Alliance performance specifications.”
“This partnership with MediaComm represents an exciting opening for SDVoE technology into the domestic Chinese market, a market that has been working with AV over IP for a long time, and will now benefit from the high level of performance available using SDVoE,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “Using 10 Gb Ethernet hardware to move video with flawless quality and zero latency is the beginning, then the SDVoE software platform enables the development of new applications tailored to diverse user needs.”
All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency, uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches thus offering substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.
The SDVoE Alliance will feature member products and demonstrations at InfoComm 2017 (Orlando, June 14-16) in booth 3729.
