SDVoE Announces Snap One to Alliance

Snap One, a leading manufacturer and distributor of smart living technology, joins the SDVoE Alliance as a contributing member

MONTREAL (Oct 10, 2023) – The SDVoE Alliance, a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, announces Snap One, a leading manufacturer and distributor of smart living technology, has joined the SDVoE Alliance as a contributing member.

Created out of respect and passion for smart technology, Snap One was founded by technology integrators who saw a better way to do things. Today, Snap One is an industry leader in the pro-install channel. Snap One helps integrators build their businesses by providing a wide range of high-quality products, easily accessible through an intuitive website and backed by award-winning service and support. From whole-home entertainment to commercial-grade infrastructure, Snap One offers countless solutions for connected homes and businesses including smart solutions, A/V infrastructure, entertainment, conferencing, distributed audio, networking, security, entertainment, and power and remote management. “From whole-home entertainment to commercial-grade infrastructure, Snap One designs some of the most popular brands in the world, trusted by pros and loved by consumers,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “I’m pleased to welcome Snap One to the SDVoE Alliance. We are thrilled to have SDVoE technology serve as the foundation for their next generations of AV-over-IP products.”

“Developing an ecosystem of quality products that work cohesively for integrators to effectively deliver robust technology solutions is one of Snap One’s core missions. We are excited to foster this relationship with SDVoE to continue building the future of Media-over-IP (MoIP) products and technology in both residential and commercial markets. Snap One holds a great standard of innovation and reliability within the pro AV technology industry. Partnering with SDVoE to integrate SDVoE enabled technology in our MoIP ecosystem and new products like our coming B-960 series showcases our dedication to that standard,” says David Moore, executive vice president of Technology and Engineering of Snap One.

In recent years, industry demands for remote data collection and real-time content management have dramatically increased AV-over-IP applications. AV-over-IP technology supports high-quality audio/video transmission over long distances without latency, making it ideal for content streaming applications. All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency and uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing, and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs, and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches, thus offering substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches, such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.
