Panduit™ Joins SDVoE Alliance
Leading network infrastructure provider seeks to accelerate the convergence of AV and IT systems
MONTREAL — May 15, 2017 — The SDVoE™ Alliance today announced that Panduit™, a leading global provider of network infrastructure, has joined the alliance as a contributing member. Panduit will work toward the organization’s goals of standardizing the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, and creating an ecosystem around SDVoE technology that allows software to define AV applications.
“Panduit is excited to be the first cabling and connectivity manufacturer to join the SDVoE Alliance as a contributing member,” said Dennis Renaud, vice president of Panduit’s Enterprise business. “The Alliance and Panduit have similar goals of promoting the expansion and standardization of an AV-over-IP solution. This gives Panduit an opportunity to introduce our high-quality, industry-leading network products and solutions to the pro AV market.”
“SDVoE is the only off-the-shelf technology for pro AV that offers a ‘full stack solution’ addressing the entire 7-layer OSI stack with solutions at every layer,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “Panduit provides vital infrastructure that supports the Ethernet physical layer, the basis upon which all the other layers are built. We welcome their valuable contribution and participation in the alliance and look forward to working with them as we provide the solid, stable, reliable and cost-effective AV-over-IP platform the pro AV market seeks.”
All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency, uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches thus offering substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.
The SDVoE Alliance will feature member products and demonstrations at InfoComm 2017 (Orlando, June 14-16) in booth 3729. As part of the demonstration, Panduit will showcase its Category 6A copper cabling system with MaTriX™ Technology. The MaTriX system offers unsurpassed alien crosstalk suppression and thermal properties, while delivering 10GBASE-T performance.
Panduit offers an end-to-end network infrastructure solution that delivers best-in-class network performance with superior quality, operational efficiency and easy installation. Innovative network infrastructure offerings from Panduit help you maximize your space and network investment, while providing the connectivity and bandwidth that businesses demand in today’s global world. Our robust partner ecosystem, global staff, and unmatched service and support make Panduit a valuable and trusted partner. For more information, visit www.panduit.com.
About the SDVoE Alliance
SDVoE is an initialism for “Software Defined Video over Ethernet”. The SDVoE Alliance is a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, and to create an ecosystem around SDVoE technology allowing software to define AV applications. The alliance participates in tradeshows and conferences, publishes white papers and case studies and promotes SDVoE technology, and solutions based on the technology, to system integrators, designers and consultants. Training and installer certification are also part of the mandate. The SDVoE Alliance founding members are AptoVision, Aquantia, Christie Digital, NETGEAR, Sony and ZeeVee. All interested parties are invited to join the alliance and work toward its goals. For more information, visit sdvoe.org and follow us on Twitter @SDVoE.
