Why Samsung Chose SDVoE over a Matrix

The Samsung Experience Centre at King’s Cross, London, is not just a retail shop. It’s also a lecture hall, conference center, art & design space, cinema, e-gaming facility and much more. It’s a 20,000 sq. ft. tech playground filled with Samsung innovations including the world’s first 10-meter-wide, vertically-curved LED screen. Charlie will walk us through the technical challenges they faced and the solutions they deployed in this showcase installation.

The Lost Art of AV - How Bright Are You?

This episode is a bit different than others in that we will focus on someone else's educational content. Guest Chris Neto and his Starin colleague Clay Stahlka have built a series of short-form AV educational videos (much like SDVoE Academy) called "The Lost Art of AV" and we will feature one called "Display Brightness." You'll learn some simple techniques for understanding brightness and choosing the right display for your spaces, but then we'll dig into the bigger topic of education in pro AV and examine how AV pros can stay up to date and relevant in a fast-changing world.

It's 1:00. Do You Know Where Your Network Is?

It's hard to rely on something you don't know how to fix. On this week's show, guest Alesia Hendley will help walk us through the tools and techniques for troubleshooting the network in an AV-over-IP system. We'll touch on Wireshark, IP mapping, and discover the number one cause of network failure.

Sales Engineer, Multimedia Journalist, Content Creator

Alesia has played many roles in her young pro AV career - end user, integrator, designer, sales, and even been a member of the press. She told me "really early in my career I noticed that every piece of AV equipment was connected to the network, so I thought 'hmm, I better learn about networks!" She has settled into a groove in sales engineering for Access Networks, so it's her job to help ensure customer success by making sure the right pieces of the network are in place.
