SDVoE Alliance to Offer Six AV-over-IP Training Sessions at InfoComm China 2018

QuickFire and Seminar programs will familiarize system integrators, designers, consultants, installers and manufacturers with the new AV-over-IP paradigm — Software Defined Video Over Ethernet

MONTREAL — April 4, 2017 — At InfoComm China 2018 in Beijing April 11-13, the SDVoE™ Alliance will offer a series of training sessions focusing on Ethernet as the transport for AV signals in professional AV environments and the ecosystem around the SDVoE platform which allows software to define AV applications.

The sessions will be presented by Holden Guo of NETGEAR and Bill Lee of Wincomm, a Christie distributor. Both NETGEAR and Christie are SDVoE founding member companies.

“AV-over-IP has a long history in China, with many well-developed solutions already on the market featuring high compression and high latency performance,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “We are excited to present the SDVoE AV-over-IP platform in China and to demonstrate how integrators and end users can enjoy the flexibility and scalability of Ethernet while benefitting from the performance of a matrix switch – 4K video without compromise, without latency, and without image artifacts.”

Attendees to the SDVoE Alliance training sessions will learn what they need to know to leverage the SDVoE standard for high performance AV network deployments in education, healthcare, enterprise, entertainment, hospitality, retail, houses of worship, government, military, industry and security.

All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency, uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches thus offering substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.
